Last weekend it was my turn to choose the film for our movie night. As my husband and I can never agree on a film, a few years ago we decided to take it in turns. One week it is his choice, the next week is mine. I was therefore pleased when Lionsgate asked us to review their latest modern romantic comedy – Mother’s Day.
The film follows the story of several characters in the lead up to Mother’s Day. Directed by Garry Marshall, it has an all star cast including Jennifer Aniston, Julia Roberts, Kate Hudson, Britt Robertson and Sarah Chalke.
The interconnecting storyline includes a mum who has to put up with her ex husband and his very young new wife; an accomplished writer with a secret; two sisters who hide their relationships from old fashioned parents; a young mum struggling with abandonment issues and a widowed father dealing with the loss of his wife.
I am pleased to say that Mother’s Day was a hit for both of us. Although my husband was reluctant to watch the film, he admitted at the end that it was a good film. It was funny, not overly cheesy or too sentimental. There were certainly some laugh out loud sections and a heart warming message.
I have teamed up with Lionsgate to give away three Mother’s Day DVDs– one each to three lucky readers. To be in with a chance of winning this great prize just complete one or more entries on the Rafflecopter below. Good luck!
Mother’s Day is rated 12 and is out to download, on DVD and Blu-ray from 3rd October.
