Adam loves strawberries and raspberries. However, he is very particular. They have to come straight from Nana’s garden. Shop bought strawberries and raspberries are a no go area – he simply refuses them. I don’t think Nana has managed to eat any of her strawberries this year because as soon as one is ripe, Adam manages to find it. We decided to take Adam raspberry picking to show him that raspberries do not just grow in Nana’s garden. So we went to Blofield Pick Your Own, just off the A47 in Norfolk.
Unfortunately the strawberries had just finished but there were plenty of Tullameen and Glen Ample raspberries on offer. The field was a dream come true for Adam. Rows upon rows of raspberry plants to run down. As you can imagine Adam was a distant blur for most of the visit. We did manage to distract him enough to actually pick some raspberries and fill our basket.
This was a typical view of Adam:
The big question – did Adam eat the raspberries that weren’t from Nana’s garden? Unfortunately no. He wouldn’t even put one near his mouth. Back to the drawing board of getting my son to eat more fruit! He thoroughly enjoyed his experience though and I enjoyed eating our freshly picked raspberries. We would definitely recommend Blofield Pick Your Own – the raspberries were delicious, easy to pick and good value for money. We shall be back later on in the year once the blackberries are ripened.
