As you may know we were finalists in the Mad Blog Awards for Best Pre-School Blog. A few days ago I had the privilege of attending the awards ceremony.
Last year I was finalist in the Brilliance in Blogging Awards for Fresh Voice. I was so new to blogging at that stage I didn’t appreciate what an amazing achievement it was to be a finalist. As a result, I wasn’t overly nervous. It was also part of a two day blogging conference so the awards ceremony felt like an extra element to the event. However, the Mad Blog Awards ceremony is a stand alone evening occasion. This meant I had more time and more reason to be nervous!
One thing I didn’t need to worry about was what I was wearing. Thanks to Pepperberry I knew I would feel confident in my clothes. I have worn Pepperberry to every blogging event so far and it is the only place I will look for clothes. Their clothes are designed and cut to fit and flatter boobs, with three unique curvy sizes (Curvy, Really Curvy and Super Curvy) to choose from.
I have to admit I hate shopping. Clothes and fashion do not excite me and I rarely go into the city to specifically shop for clothes. However, I love the atmosphere in the Bravissimo/ Pepperberry shop. Their customer service is second to none, both online and in store. Their clothes are extremely high quality and are flattering.
I opted for a blue Jacquard dress with metallic spots. It was made from a thicker material than I would normally wear but it was comfortable. I was persuaded not to wear my usual flip flops and actually wore heels – and kept them on all night!
The Mad Blog Awards saw me going down to London. The lead up to the event was a surreal experience for me – from having my hair and make up done professionally to getting to speak to bloggers, who up until now I have only seen on my computer screen.
I had a wonderful evening spent with Niki from Play and Learn Everyday and Caitlin, fellow PSS trustee, author of HG – The Definitive Guide and Spewing Mummy. After a three course meal it was the awards ceremony hosted by Dr Ranj (from Cbeebies) who had had a little bit too much to drink!
Luckily my category was third so I could enjoy the rest of the evening without being nervous! Congratulations to We’re Going On An Adventure for winning Best Pre-School Blog!
It was an amazing night made even better by spending it with Niki (Play and Learn Everyday), Caitlin (Spewing Mummy), Susanne (Ghostwritermummy) and Amber (Goblin Child).
A big thank you to Pepperberry for making me feel like a winner in my amazing dress.
