This time last year Adam and I embarked on our 30 day toddler play challenge. This turned into our 100 day toddler play challenge which subsequently resulted in this blog. To celebrate our year of play we have an amazing prize up for grabs. The lovely people at Woodpic have given our readers the opportunity to win their own picture printed onto wood. But first lets take a look at what Woodpic has to offer.
Woodpic is the UK’s first, and currently only, dedicated photo to wood printer. It is an alternative to framing photographs or printing photos onto canvas. Instead the photos are printed onto 12mm birch plywood. Due to the natural grain that shows through the image every Woodpic is unique. The markings and features of the wood will influence how the final print is engrained. The Woodpic team ensure that every photo is matched with the suitable wooden canvas grain to compliment the photograph. The pictures are eco friendly too as the the wooden canvases are sustainably sourced.
Having ordered many photograph enlargements, photo books and canvases I have encountered many frustrations on ordering such products online. I wanted to put Woodpic through its paces to see if it was really was as easy as they promised. I started my order at 5.33pm on Friday afternoon. The website is very user friendly. I uploaded a picture of Adam’s first day at pre-school, cropped the image to the size I wanted, entered my postal details and pressed send. The entire process was completed by 5.36pm. In one episode of Alphablocks I had managed to order a square 11″ x 11″ Woodpic.
As I had ordered late on a Friday afternoon I had expected the picture to take a long time to deliver. As the Woodpics are handmade the estimated delivery is 7-10 working day. I was extremely surprised and impressed when our Woodpic arrived very early the following Friday – it hadn’t even take 5 working days.
The Woodpic was packaged and protected well. There was no unnecessary plastic meaning the box was compact. I couldn’t wait to get it out of the box to scrutinise the quality of the image.
I was extremely impressed. You can see the wood grain through the image which adds an extra dimension to the photograph. No detail was lost in printing and the colours are true to the original photograph.
The Woodpic came with a simple to use hanging kit. If you wanted your Woodpic to show more wood through the image then simply choose a picture with a white background. As the printers do not print white the wood grain would show through instead. Woodpics come in a variety of sizes from square 9×9 inches to 46×46 inches and in landscape from 12×9 inches to 40×20 inches. Prices start from £29.99.
I would highly recommend Woodpic and will certainly be using them again in the future. Their customer care, quick delivery and the quality of the product are second to none.

This is pretty darn cool… I have not printed a batch of photos since Oscar was 3 months old, it is shocking!! I need to get on top of that!
As such, I would have a hard time choosing one photo, but I think given the nature of the wood canvas I would choose an outdoor photo. O’s bedroom theme is a woodland (and our wedding theme was autumn trees) so we have a fair few nature photos to choose from. I would look for one which showed the beauty of nature, as well as how much we enjoyed being out it in. Oh it would be so hard!!
One from our travels. Perhaps Patrick with petrified wood – that would be cool!
