Having Adam start school hit me harder than I thought it would. The realization that Adam and I couldn’t go on an adventure whenever we wanted to. However, it means that now I can plan amazing half term holidays. We are in for a treat this October half term. We already have two events planned and shall be spending two nights in Birmingham.
Our first adventure will be attending BRICKLIVE. My husband is LEGO® mad. He has been collecting huge LEGO® sets for Adam since before Adam was even born. He has even kept all of his childhood LEGO®. Thankfully Adam is LEGO® mad too. My boys can spend hours laying on the living room floor building set after set. When I heard about BRICKLIVE at the NEC in Birmingham I knew we had to go. BRICKLIVE is the UK’s largest LEGO® exhibition. It runs from Thursday 27th to Sunday 30th October.
I don’t know who will be more excited: my husband because he will get to see the latest LEGO® sets to buy or Adam because he will get to play with LEGO® or me because I will get to watch both of their excited faces.
The event looks huge with so many things to see and do. I am looking forward to playing with the Brick Wall, Adam will no doubt love the Race Ramps and my husband will love the Fan Zone. There are also 3 million LEGO® bricks to play with in the Brick Pits.
If you purchase your tickets during September you could win this LEGO Dimensions set worth over £600. Click on the image to purchase tickets:
Our half term holiday adventure does not end there. The following day we shall be returning to our favourite theme park – Drayton Manor. Between Saturday 15th and Sunday 30th October 2016 Drayton Manor will be hosting their Spook-tacular Halloween event. There will be creepy arts and crafts, spooky sweet treats, pumpkin donuts as well as Thomas Land™ being transformed into the spook-tacular Island of Sodor.
However, the event we are looking forward to is attending their Star Wars: The Force Awakens + Firework and Laser Spectacular.
Between Friday 28th and Sunday 30th October the park does not close until 9pm. Star Wars: The Force Awakens will be screened at the park. The night then ends with a galactic firework and laser show set over the lake with brilliant lights and lasers.
Adam can’t wait to return to Drayton Manor and revisit all of his favourite rides. We also hope to try out the new attraction – VertiGo. This is a high rope adventure course that even Adam can go on.
We shall be visiting the park on Friday 28th October which ironically is our 6th wedding anniversary. What a way to celebrate!
For a little boy who is mad about LEGO, Thomas the Tank Engine AND Star Wars I can only imagine his excitement. I wonder what else we can pack into the week too!
