As well as being a fussy eater, Adam is also a fussy drinker. At the moment he will only drink watered down soya milk (he has a cows milk intolerance). I am always on the look out for new things to try so when Vita Coco Kids asked if we would like to sample their kids drinks I jumped at the chance. The winning factor was that the Vita Coco promised their drinks have 20% less sugar than other popular drinks on the market.
Vita Coco wowed us immediately with the parcel that arrived. No doubt the box will be featuring in a toddler play activity soon!
The drinks come in two flavours – mango and pineapple and apple and blackcurrant. They are made from coconut water blended with natural fruit flavourings and water. No added colourings or preservative.
The drinks come in handy child sized container with a brilliant bendy straw. Needless to say Adam wouldn’t drink from the container. It takes a long time to introduce new foods to Adam so he drank it from his own cup. My niece Beth, on the other hand took to the drink straight away. She certainly chose a perfect place to have a refreshing drink – in a large box filled with water!
The drink was a big hit with Beth. I asked her which was her favourite drink. She obviously gave it great thought and kept alternating between the two drinks until she decided on the mango and pineapple…no wait the apple and blackcurrant!
The drinks are sold in packs of 4 across major supermarkets and health stores. The drinks can also be placed in the freezer and make great ice pops.
DISCLAIMER: Adventures of Adam was sent the samples for the purpose of reviewing the drinks. We were not paid to write this review and our opinions are our own.
