Regular readers will know we are huge fans of book related play activities. To date we have over 30 play activities linked to our favourite stories as well as our year long adventure with the book “365 Penguins“.
Back in 2014 we participated in our first Virtual Book Club with our Frozen Vinegar Rainbow Fish. I am excited to announce that we have become co-hosts of the Virtual Book Club which is organised by Rainy Day Mum, The Educators Spin on It and Toddler Approved.
Each week we shall be sharing a craft, play activity or learning opportunity based around a featured children’s book. This will take place every MONDAY during school time. We shall be linking up with other Virtual Book Club co-hosts to give you plenty of ideas on how to bring a story alive with your little ones.
You Can Join In Too!
We would love you to join the Virtual Book Club For Kids. Every Monday the Virtual Book Club hosts will post an activity that relates to the weeks book. The activities will be shared in Virtual Book Club Facebook Group. Here you will also find additional book lists for the theme and find extra activities that the support the weekly theme.
Read the book of the week with your little one and then do a related activity. There will be plenty of inspiration from us, the other co-hosts and the Facebook group. Also check out the hashtag #vbcforkids. We would love to see your activities too over on the Adventures and Play Facebook page or Instagram!
There is a mixture of family favourites and new books to enjoy within the Virtual Book Club. If you are a planner (like me!) here is a list of books featured in the Virtual Book Club over September and October 2016. You can either find the books at your local library, purchase the books (Amazon affiliate links are provided for your convenience below) or watch someone reading the story over on YouTube.
