As part of our Tuff Spot A-Z Challenge we have created an S is for Spring Showers Tuff Spot. It seems to have rained most of our Easter holiday so far – until today when I actually wanted it to rain!
We created our Spring Showers Tuff Spot by cutting two cloud shapes out of A3 white paper and sellotaping them to our blue Tuff Spot (affiliate link). I threaded cotton through tea bags so they would hang down. Our tea bags represented rain drops. I wanted the activity to focus on developing Adam’s fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination. I gave Adam a spray bottle filled with water and he had to aim at each ‘raindrop’ to spray water on to it.
Adam found it easier to aim when the Tuff Spot was on the floor.
We then got to experiment with our Plui Rain Cloud from ImagiDo. The cloud is amazing! I love how you can control whether the rain drops down just by the simple movement of your finger. Take a look at the Plui Rain Cloud in action:
As this was Adam’s first attempt at using the Plui Rain Cloud it was a little tricky trying to demonstrate how it worked, how to hold the cloud and take photos so Daddy helped us!
Our Spring Showers Tuff Spot ended up to be a sensory activity as Adam enjoyed jumping in the tea coloured puddle and wanted Daddy to make it rain on his head!
We are looking forward to using the Plui Rain Cloud in many more play activities.
