Rainbow Shaving Foam Bath Painting

November 17, 2014 by Emma Gadsby 6 Comments

Back in February Adam had his first experience of painting in the bath.  It was a great activity and so easy to clean. I decided to repeat the activity as Adam is older but wanted to add an extra element. This time we added shaving foam to the paint to create rainbow shaving foam bath painting.

The activity was easy to set up. I squirted shaving foam into each container and mixed in a small amount of paint. For the roller brush tray I added shaving foam to the bottom of the tray and then added strips of paint. This is a great activity if you are running low on paint as you do not need much.

Adventures Rainbow Painting

Adam jumped straight into the bath and immediately started painting. He had managed three rainbows before I could even reach for the camera! The shaving foam added a wonderful texture to the paint.

Last time Adam struggled to pick up the heavy roller brush. This time he used a smaller version and was able to manoeuvre it easily.

This looks like lots of fun! My daughter loves playing with shaving foam, but we’ve never added color before. I’m a fan of how easy it easy to rinse away! 😉

I love the idea of painting in the bath, think I read your previous post too. Shaving foam is such a great cheap play resource. #letkidsbekids

What a great idea for messy exploratory, creative fun! Shaving foam really adds to the experience I think.
