I placed our Time Tuff Spot mat in the blue Tuff Spot. Click here to read how we created the DIY Tuff Spot mat. I then added a pack of 10 cane safety caps. Inside each cap I placed a recycled lolly stick. Some sticks needed a little piece of play dough to ensure the sticks stayed upright.
I gave Adam a basket filled with Millerighe pasta. The pasta is large and has a hole running through the middle. It is a perfect size for a toddler to thread onto a stick. Adam managed to get three pieces of Millerighe pasta onto each stick without any assistance.
The great thing about the activity is that once Adam had created the towers he could tip the stick upside down, watch the pasta fall off and start the threading activity again. A perfect activity for fine motor skills and developing hand-eye coordination. Tidying up is quick and easy too!
