Back in May we visited The Playbarn in Poringland with our friends Max and Kate. Adam loved it so we decided to revisit over the Summer with my 2 year old niece. This time we took full advantage of the parts we missed. First up was the Haybarn. This is the indoor soft play area which has a farm yard theme. The two toddlers struggled a little going up to the first level but luckily Daddy was there to help.
The tyres made a great addition to the outside car and tractor area. Both Adam and Beth loved manoeuvring the vehicles around them.
The cousins also loved the indoor sand pit inside the Beach Barn. There are two sections which contain several sand toys, boats and slides. The sand is too dry to make sand castles with but it didn’t stop Beth and Adam spending ages transferring the sand from one bucket to another.
Out in the Children’s Farm Adam managed to focus on the animals this time rather than running around the outside of the Ferret house. One great feature I haven’t seen any where before was a way to encourage children to wash their hands after being in contact with the animals. On the way in you stamp your child’s hand with a ‘bug’. On the way out your child has to wash the bug off. It certainly makes them scrub their hands more!
One part of the PlayBarn we missed last time was the Puzzle Paddock. This is an enclosed space with lots of games to play, picnic area, more tractors and the Rainbow Maze. The toddlers spent ages running around the maze and giggling when the found each other. Having a toddler who wants nothing more than to run, the Puzzle Paddock was a great place for Adam.
Unfortunately we missed out on the tractor and trailer ride (an additional fee) and haven’t yet had a go at Crazy Golf. We shall certainly be visiting The PlayBarn several times in the near future.
