Back in April you may remember that Adam planted some potatoes with Nana in her vegetable patch. He loved playing in the mud and covering up the potatoes once they had been planted.
Two months later and Nana’s vegetable patch looked very different. The potato plants were bigger than Adam and her broad bean plants seem to have a life of their own. Can you spot Adam?
Each time we visit Nana Adam loves to explore the vegetable patch. He has discovered a love of strawberries but only if he gets to pick them off the plant himself. It is the only space in Nana’s garden that he doesn’t run around. He can usually be found walking around the vegetable patch without any shoes on.
Last week Adam helped Nana dig up the potatoes and pick broad beans for lunch.
Adam and Beth enjoyed cleaning the potatoes before cooking them. However, Adam found it hilarious to throw the potatoes back into the water. Poor Nana got soaked.
Adam then got to eat the potatoes for his lunch. It was a great opportunity for Adam to see the full process of where his food comes from, whilst eating close by to the vegetable patch.
From seed to vegetable patch to fork.
Adam was 2 years and 2 months old.
