The other day I was cutting up some pool noodles (activity to follow) when I remembered we had some old pipe insulation in the garage. I cut the pipe insulation in half (using a bread knife) and put it against a tall box. We don’t own any marbles at the moment so the next best thing was pom poms. Within a few moments we had a pipe insulation pom pom run.
Obviously it wasn’t only pom poms that made it down the pipe insulation but cars too! As the pom poms were slightly too big and didn’t roll down the the pipe insulation straight away, Adam had time to make a line of pom poms before watching them run down the pipe.
As the activity was on the spur of the moment I hadn’t researched ways to play with pipe insulation. That evening I had a look on the internet. Frugal Fun 4 Boys has an amazing post about how to build a marble run with pipe insulation. How impressive is this:
Frugal Fun 4 Boys has great instructions on how to make it – including how to get the pipe to curve.
I love how Buggy and Buddy experimented with adding tunnels to their marble run.
I can tell we will be purchasing more pipe insulation in the future.
