Pipe Cleaner Posting – Day 96 Toddler Play Challenge

February 15, 2014 by Emma Gadsby 1 Comment

I managed to buy a large collection of pipe cleaners from the 99p Store after I had seen a simple set up activity on Hands On As We Grow. I gave them to Adam along with a colander and showed him how to push a pipe cleaner through a hole.

However Adam struggled with the smaller holes. So we changed the activity. It was me who placed all of the pipe cleaners into the colander and Adam had to pull them out. He found this extremely funny.

He then pulled them out one by one…

…  and gave them back to me to repost.

Adam had a great time exploring the texture of the pipe cleaners.

Adam was 21 months old.

UPDATE:

As part of our 30 Day Simple Play At Home challenge Adam and I are revisiting some of our previous play activities. For Day 1: Kitchen Play we revisited Pipe Cleaner Posting. Two years on from the activity above and Adam still prefers to pull the pipe cleaners out rather than post them! Here is Adam playing with the same colander and thesame pipe cleaners!
