Peg Drop – Day 14 Toddler Play Challenge

November 14, 2013 by Emma Edwards 2 Comments

Plan B took place today due to Adam suffering from a double whammy, Hand, Foot and Mouth disease and his second flu jab. It was a simple schematic ‘transporting’ activity where Adam transferred the pegs from one basket to another – peg drop fun.

He got the hang of posting the pegs through the holes too although got frustrated as several were slightly too big.

We tried pegging them around the edge of the basket but Adam’s muscles aren’t strong enough yet.

UPDATE: I added some pegs and a couple of bowls to an Adams Busy Boxes. However, the couple of dozen pegs Adam has access to doesn’t seem enough for Adam and I frequently catch him trying to reach my actual clothes line pegs on the window sill!

Equipment:

* Pegs

* At least two baskets or boxes

Adam was 18 months old.

    It’s official-you are my new favourite blogger! My Mum taught me colours by having me peg the right coloured peg on the hem of her dress when she was hanging out the washing on the line and I did the same with Bubbles but I’ve never thought to do a simple transfer activity-thank you!

      Wow – thanks Victoria. That just made my day! Great idea about pegging them on the hen of your dress. Shall have to try that with Adam – it may stop him trying to drop the pegs into the water tray when I am hanging out the washing!

Welcome!

Emma and Adam

During a difficult pregnancy suffering from Hyperemesis Gravidarum (HG) Emma vowed to make every day an adventure once she had recovered. Adventures of Adam is the outcome of completing a 100 day play challenge with Adam as part of that promise. Emma has a section dedicated to HG friendly play activities so that Mums can still be part of their children’s play whilst they are ill.
