Pasta Painting

January 9, 2015 by Emma Gadsby Leave a Comment

We are on Day 9 of our 31 Day Sensory Play Challenge. Today’s challenge is to play with pasta. We chose to try pasta painting. I tied an elastic band around the end of a handful of spaghetti and placed it in boiling water so that only half of the spaghetti was covered. The process took about ten minutes.

Once the pasta paint brush had cooled I gave it to Adam who was already busy painting.

Unfortunately Adam was in the process of hand painting so ended up with one painted hand suspended until he had finished painting! The pasta paint brushes worked well but they could have done with being cooked a little longer.

As a result Adam realised that if you attempted to dab the pasta paint brush onto the paper the pasta paint brush broke. This didn’t stop him. He simply used each individual segment on the pasta paint brush instead!

Emma and Adam

During a difficult pregnancy suffering from Hyperemesis Gravidarum (HG) Emma vowed to make every day an adventure once she had recovered. Adventures of Adam is the outcome of completing a 100 day play challenge with Adam as part of that promise. Emma has a section dedicated to HG friendly play activities so that Mums can still be part of their children’s play whilst they are ill.
