We just can’t seem to get enough of penguins at the moment. Regular readers will know we are having a penguin delivered to our house everyday throughout 2016 just like in the story 365 Penguins. When Orchard Toys asked us to review their latest Mini Games series we had to go for Penguin Pairs.
Orchard Toys have released a new collection titled Mini Games. These are their smallest games that come in a compact box. They are portable and therefore perfect for entertaining children whilst on holiday. The series includes Build A Beetle, Dinosaur Dominoes, Little Bus Lotto, Jungle Snakes and Ladders, Crocodile Snap and Penguin Pairs.
Penguin Pairs is aimed for children between 3 and 6 years old. The game is both suitable as a single player activity and as a multi-player game for up to four people. Inside the small box there are 32 quirky penguins. We love how each penguin is dressed up differently. The penguins include a pirate, a footballer, a clown, a superhero as well as penguins sporting a variety of beautiful dresses.
To play the game you simply spread the penguin cards face down on the table. You take it turns to find a matching penguin pair. The game ends when there are no cards left to pick up and the winner is the one with the most penguin pairs.
I have lost count how many times we have played Penguin Pairs. Adam loves to describe what each penguin is wearing throughout the game.
As the box is so small it can fit inside my handbag and be taken out with us on adventures. It was the ideal game to play whilst we were on our Cromer holiday. It kept Adam entertained when he woke up early.
Penguin Pairs will certainly be coming with us on our next holiday abroad. It will be a great activity to play whilst on the plane as well as in the hotel. The game is small and light weight so will fit perfectly in our hand luggage. Our penguin obsession can continue abroad!
