Adam loves painting in the bath. We have tried painting rainbows and using shaving foam. As day 7 of our 31 Day Sensory Play Challenge is “sensory fun in the bath” we decided to do some more bath tub painting but add a twist – neon bath painting!
We used the same paint from our Neon Rice Sensory Bin which I had won from Rainbow Creations. I poured five of the colours into a container and placed it in the bath. Adam was slightly reluctant about getting in the bath until I showed him the paints. I wrote his name, turned off the light and turned on the Handheld UV Blacklight (affiliate link).
Adam got involved with neon painting straight away! The photographs do not do the activity justice due the reflection on the tiles. The paint really glowed and transformed our bathroom.
Dad-Dad couldn’t resist a bit of letter and number recognition during the sensory bath tub play.
Adam couldn’t resist a bit of hand printing. The florescent hand prints looked fantastic.
Neon bath painting kept Adam occupied for ages. It felt strange painting in the dark and you forget that the paint is only glowing because of the UV light. The art work didn’t look as great with the light turned on!
