Kindness Elves aren’t just for Christmas

June 28, 2017 by Emma Edwards Leave a Comment

We are huge fans of the Kindness Elves, magical friends who encourage children to carry out acts of kindness and love. It was been wonderful to watch the Kindness Elves, created by The Imagination Tree, expand. There is now a wide range of resources which means that Kindness Elves aren’t just for Christmas but can be enjoyed throughout the year.

Back in Christmas 2015 we celebrated the arrival of our first Kindness Elves. On December 11th several construction men appeared at our fireplace and the next day the Kindness Elves house had been built. The Kindness Elves would leave a message each day with a suggested kindness activity. Over the next twelve days we took part in kindness acts including donating shoes, clothes, books, food bank items and animal food, making thank you cards for local people who help us and sponsoring an animal.

This is a beautifully illustrated story introducing children to the Kindness Elves and their magical world. Adam loves making the connection between his own Kindness Elves house and the one in the story whereas I love how the colours of the rainbow are described qualities which make a kind and caring heart – compassion, kindness, love, joy, peace, gentleness and patience.

The Kindness Elves Accessory Pack is the ideal set of goodies to use alongside your Kindness Elves. Take a look at what comes with the pack:

As a teacher I could immediately see the benefit of using the Kindness Elves in the classroom. The Kind Classroom: A Teaching Resources Pack is an e-book which gives you everything you would need to promote kind and caring behaviour towards others. The pack is filled with circle time games, whole class kindness activities and a simple positive behaviour system.

Soon we shall be taking part in Camp Kindness, a six week program packed with kindness activities, but I wanted to give you a sneak peek at the latest Elves available to purchase. As detailed in The Story of the Kindness Elves book, each Kindness Elves family has a different occupation, interest or talent. You can now buy pink and green Kindness Elves!

Meet Rose and Wish the pink “Wish Maker” elves. According to The Kindness Elves website “the Wish Makers are fabulously inventive and love nothing more than to create wonderful surprises for others to enjoy! They decorate places beautifully, wrap gifts and set up amazing treasure hunts for little ones to enjoy. If there’s a celebration happening the Wish Makers will be in the middle of it, probably covered in glitter and confetti! They love to make wishes come true in whatever way they can and celebrate the everyday moments too.”

Also available to purchase are Ivy and Sage the green “Nature Lover” elves. The Kindness Elves website describe these elves as “the Nature Lovers love to be outside playing and exploring! They are tree climbers, forest explorers, beach diggers, wave jumpers, leaf throwers and puddle splashers! They care for the environment and all animals, both wild and pets at home. They take a special interest in the plants and flowers, cultivating their own beautiful gardens to bring happiness to others!”

Green Kindness Elves

We are now all set to take part in  Camp Kindness this summer – let the kindness activities commence!

Welcome!

Emma and Adam

During a difficult pregnancy suffering from Hyperemesis Gravidarum (HG) Emma vowed to make every day an adventure once she had recovered. Adventures of Adam is the outcome of completing a 100 day play challenge with Adam as part of that promise. Emma has a section dedicated to HG friendly play activities so that Mums can still be part of their children’s play whilst they are ill.
