It is a week of celebrations in the Edwards’ household. We celebrated Adam’s second birthday on Friday (post to follow) and it is my birthday today.
How birthdays change once you have children! My birthday has quickly crept up on all of us after celebrating Adam’s. I love the fact Adam and I get to share the bank holiday weekend as our birthday weekend – I prefer it that way.
The morning started off perfectly. My husband got up with Adam, who has decided 5.30am is the best time to start the day.A birthday lay in treat. Chris cooked us pancakes!
I got a lovely surprise through the post from my wonderful friend Katrina – a huge box of chocolates. Chris is out at football training tonight so I won’t have to share them!
Today we visited Gorleston beach with Nana and my niece. In typical cousin style the two toddlers went in opposite directions on the beach – Adam running as usual. Gone are the days we could take a leisurely stroll along the beach. I now spend my time running after Adam and that boy is fast.
We had our family tradition of chips on the beach. Last year we had deckchairs, a windbreak, two pushchairs, toys…the full works. This year we sat on the sand. I managed to eat a few chips in between chasing Adam who always makes a beeline for a carpark.
Later in the afternoon we went to Great Yarmouth with my husband. We went last year for my birthday and ate Dominoes Pizza on the sea front. It was a very hot day where I managed to get sunburnt.
This year we managed to do the same, although we had to dodge the rain showers.
2014 and I can now say my childhood is complete. 33 years of waiting have finally paid off. Every birthday and Christmas I used to ask for the same thing. Each year I got the same answer, “It’s a waste of money.” It didn’t stop me dreaming that one day I would own one. I think an 80’s childhood can be divided into two groups – those that were fortunate to own one and those of us who went without. What am I talking about? Well thanks to my brother and sister-in-law I am now a proud owner of a MR FROSTY!!!!!
