We currently have a DIY clay obsession. We started with our DIY Clay Heart Valentine’s Day Card and we haven’t stopped since. Take a look at our DIY clay guest posts we have written on our favourite blogs:
With spring around the corner we have used our clay recipe to create a DIY Clay Spring Flower Garland.
We mixed 1 cup of cornflour and 1/2 cup of PVA glue in a bowl until the two ingredients remained together. We then spent some time kneading the clay. This was a great exercise to strengthen the muscles in Adams hands.

We sprinkled additional cornflour onto the table and rolled out our DIY clay. Using a Flower Shaped Cookie Cutters we created five clay flowers. There was plenty of clay left over to make more creations.
We used a straw to make two holes in each flower and then left the clay to dry overnight on a tray lined with baking paper.
The next day we started the process of painting the flowers. We used five different colours of acrylic paint to cover the clay. Each flower needed at least two coats of paint. I used a small paint brush to get the paint into the holes and to ensure that the paint didn’t cover the hole completely.
Once the paint had dried we started making our Spring Flower Garland. We used yellow wool and a plastic needle to thread the flowers together.
In order to stop the flowers from falling off of the wool, I double threaded the wool through the two end flowers. All that was left to do was hang our Flower Garland on the wall and a wonderful way to celebrate the new season.
