Ten Dinosaur Christmas Stories

When you think of Christmas stories you may conjure up images of Father Christmas, snow or the nativity story. However, in our household we think of dinosaurs!

Ten Dinosaur Christmas Stories for the festive period

We purchased Adam’s first Christmas Dinosaur story when he was a few months old and have been adding to his collection every since. Here are our ten of our favourite Dinosaur Christmas Stories.

Ten Dinosaur Christmas Stories

The Dinosaur That Pooped Christmas by Tom Fletcher and Dougie Poynter : Continuing the “Dinosaur The Pooped” series this is a funny festive story. When greedy Danny asks for too many presents, Father Christmas decides enough is enough. He gives Danny a huge Dinosaur which results in a very messy and smelly consequence.

The Christmasaurus by Tom Fletcher: We have been waiting for this story to come out all year. Although it is suited for older children I can’t wait to read the lengthy story to Adam. The beautiful illustrations enhance the magical storyline.
Dinosaur Christmas by Jerry Palotta. This story started off our love of Christmas dinosaur stories. Find out who used to pull Santa’s sleigh before he had reindeer.

Dinosaur’s Night Before Christmas by Jim Harris: This is a fun alternative to the traditional Night Before Christmas. Santa clones a dinosaur for a child because he wanted one for Christmas. However, Santa gets eaten and the dinosaurs start gobbling up the presents. Don’t worry though – this story certainly isn’t scary.
Dinosaur Vs. Santa by Bob Shea: Continuing the Dinosaur Vs series, Dinosaur is getting ready for Christmas. The story is adorable. Dinosaur is like any four year old waiting for Christmas to arrive.

Yikes, Santa-CLAWS! by Pamela Butchart: Yikes, Santa-CLAWS! is definitely a unique story that your child will not forget. The story follows three dino-tots who investigate a loud noise on Christmas Eve. They think it is Santa-Claus but they discover Santa-Claws reeking mischief.

A Ninja Dinosaur Christmas!!! by Sonya Saturday: Which child doesn’t love dinosaurs and ninjas? Well in this story a dinosaur is turned into a ninja by space aliens and sent forward in time to wreck Christmas!

Make a Christmas Wish (Harry & His Bucket Full of Dinosaurs): Adam is a huge fan of the Harry and the Bucket Full of Dinosaurs series so we were pleased to discover a Christmas story in the series. The story follows Harry and his dinosaurs who all want a pet duckling for Christmas.
The Dinosaurs’ Night Before Christmas by Anne Muecke: This story comes with a CD which has been played over and over again! In this fun twist on the classic poem “Twas the Night Before Christmas!” the dinosaur fossils in a museum come to life and sing, dance, and eat gingerbread.

The Dinosaur and Ladybug in Heels Christmas Nativity Story by Michelle Lanoue: Continuing the “Dinosaur and Ladybug in Heels” series, this story is a very simple version of the bible story. It is easy for little ones to understand.

So have we persuaded you that Christmas is a time for Dinosaur stories?!
