It has been an incredible week – one that will take some time to process and sink in. Not only have we been celebrating Adam’s second birthday (more posts to follow), going on several outings (again more posts coming soon) and my birthday in a couple of days time but we have also had an unexpected surprise. Adventures of Adam has been shortlisted for a BiBs Award (Brilliance in Blogging). How amazing is that!
The BiBs is “the most prestigious blogging awards for British parent bloggers.” We have been shortlisted in the Fresh Voice category – for blogs less than 18 months old. I am in awe of the other blogs that I have been shortlisted with. For Adventures of Adam to be included in that list is an immense achievement.
Only 6 blogs will go through to the next stage. This is where I need your help. I need votes!
Voting is very simple and only takes a minute. Click on the picture link below and tick Adventures of Adam in the Fresh Voice category – made even easier because it is the first blog mentioned!
Whilst you are voting please click on Spewing Mummy in the Campaigns and Commentary category. Caitlin Dean is the major force behind Pregnancy Sickness Support and without her hard work and dedication the charity would not be where it is today. Her blog gives a voice to Hyperemesis Gravidarum sufferers. I recently wrote a guest post for Spewing Mummy which you can read here.
It is hard to believe Adventures of Adam blog is only two months old. On 5th March 2014 our blog went live. It all stemmed from participating in a 100 day play challenge which is why there are post dated posts starting in November. As a primary school teacher it is second nature to plan activities. Our blog is a place where I can document Adam’s adventures. It is also a way of helping women suffering from Hyperemesis Gravidarum, an extreme and debilitating form of pregnancy sickness.
Life has been a whirlwind since the blog went live. So many exciting things have happened. I have been welcomed into the Kid Bloggers Network community – a group of inspirational bloggers. Through ‘Linky Parties’ and ‘Facebook Share Days’ I have got to know many bloggers who I admire greatly.
I was asked to become a Trustee of the Pregnancy Sickness Support charity. I never imaged when I went to my first PSS conference back in 2012 when Adam was 7 weeks old that one day I would be on that board of trustees. I am honoured to be working with an amazing team and to be making a difference to women suffering from pregnancy sickness.
Unfortunately I have been battling with incredibly slow internet connection. Our usual speed is 0.025Mbps and that is on a good day when we actually have connection. It can cut out over 200 times a day – which is incredibly frustrating when blogging and administrating the Pregnancy Sickness Support Forum
The whirlwind will continue as I prepare for International Hyperemesis Gravidarum Awareness Day on 15th May. I am currently editing this year’s video and preparing for The Big Brew fundraiser. Life is busy but fun!
Adventures of Adam has been shortlisted for a BiBs Award.
Please vote for Adventures of Adam in the Fresh Voice category.
Thank you for your support.
