I seem to have blinked and Summer is over and September has ended. The month was one of huge changes in our household. Adam started school full time. Although I thought I had prepared myself for Adam being at school five days a week, the reality hit me hard. It was the realisation that we would never be able to go on an adventure whenever we wanted to. However, Adam absolutely loves school. His enthusiasm is infectious and he bounces into school each morning. Our adventures will just have to adapt now but one thing has remained. We still have a penguin delivered to our house everyday. Here is what our 271 penguins look from 365 Penguins – September.

If you are new to our blog then you may not know about our 365 Penguin adventure. Last year we fell in love with the story 365 Penguins by Jean-Luc Fromental. A family finds a penguin is mysteriously delivered to their door for every day of the year. The story follows the trials and tribulations of looking after 365 penguins. On January 1st 2016 our first penguin arrived at our door and have been coming ever since.
Each one of our penguins is handmade and arrives just before bed time. They are stored in Adam’s wooden dolls house and are regularly played with. You can read our tutorial on how I make the penguins here.
Taking photos of the penguins is getting harder month by month. Stacking 271 penguins is quite a difficult task. I lost count how many times I nearly got to the top of the tower before one slight move would make the penguins topple down. Getting all of the penguins into the shot is also extremely difficult. I have no idea how I am going to get 301 penguins in October’s photo!
