365 Penguins – November

November 30, 2016 by Emma Edwards Leave a Comment

We have reached the penultimate month in our 365 Penguins adventure. At the beginning of the year it seemed an impossible dream – to have 365 Penguins delivered to our door throughout the year just like in the book. However, we have just had penguin number 334 arrive at our house. Why not check out our first ever 365 Penguins post to see why I started this crazy idea!

I couldn’t resist getting Adam a Penguin Onesie so he could really be at one with the penguins. We also decided November deserved proper photo shoot. Attempting to get 334 penguins stacked into one pyramid like our previous months proved impossible – certainly without Adam knocking them over. So we our penguins went to Nana and Grandads house to the photographed. Adam certainly loved being a penguin model.

November is our favourite part in the book. It is the part that Adam recites whenever the book is mentioned:

“Once you’ve reached the point of no return, one penguin more or one penguin less each day doesn’t make much difference anymore.

You live penguin.

You think penguin.

You dream penguin.

You become penguin - 365 Penguins

You become penguin.”

It is hard to believe but Nana had never read the 365 Penguins story. Adam loves the book so much and heard the story so many times that he can practically recite the whole book now!

Reading 365 Penguins

Whenever I have taken photographs of all the penguins together it is Adam’s little tradition to be allowed to knock them all over. I finally got the tradition on camera:

During November our penguins came with us on our mini break in Birmingham. They visited Draytons Magical Christmas and the SnowDome. It shall be strange next year not packing a penguin whenever we go away.

Only 31 more penguins to be delivered. I wonder what December adventures will bring for our penguins.
