365 Penguins – May

May 31, 2016 by Emma Edwards Leave a Comment

May was certainly a busy month for our penguins. We had so many celebrations, holidays and events that our penguins joined in with.

For those of you who are new to our 365 Penguin adventure we are having a penguin delivered to our house everyday throughout 2016. We were inspired by the story 365 Penguins by Jean-Luc Fromental. We started May with 121 penguins and ended the month with 149.

On day 121 our penguin came with us to Adam’s birthday weekend celebration at Drayton Manor. The penguin thoroughly enjoyed their Pizza Express meal.

The next day (penguin number 122) arrived wearing a Happy Birthday sticker to celebrate Adam’s fourth birthday. Penguin number 127 was wearing the same outfit in order to celebrate my birthday too.

We had three penguins delivered to our holiday cottage whilst staying in Cromer.

Penguin number 130 came dressed up as Harry Potter whilst I was at the grand opening of Number 4 Privet Drive at the Warner Brothers Harry Potter Studio Tour.

On day 148 our penguin was delivered holding an elephant. He was celebrating Elmer’s Day for Elmer The Elephant.

However, in May we had one very special penguin that Adam has been looking forward to meeting – Chilly. Chilly is different to all the other penguins as he has blue feet!

Observant readers will notice something different about this months penguins. Have you spotted the difference? After four months of making feet for our penguins I decided to stop adding them. The reason was the feet didn’t stay on very well. Every time Adam played with the penguins several penguins were left with missing limbs. So from now on our penguins will not have their orange feet. It certainly makes stacking our penguins much easier.

I wonder if June will be just as busy with our penguins as we welcome 30 more penguins into our home.

Emma and Adam

During a difficult pregnancy suffering from Hyperemesis Gravidarum (HG) Emma vowed to make every day an adventure once she had recovered. Adventures of Adam is the outcome of completing a 100 day play challenge with Adam as part of that promise. Emma has a section dedicated to HG friendly play activities so that Mums can still be part of their children’s play whilst they are ill.
